Discuss Progress on Final Presentation 043009

Well the semester is nearly over, and I’ve been busily putting the finishing touches on my final project: a PowerPoint presentation and the less than 15-page paper that will accompany it.

It’s fun using all the techniques and theories we’ve discussed this semester, although it is a bit more difficult to complete with little time and feedback. Oh well. I write more when I get further along..

I’m further along….present my PowerPoint presentation to the class and received lots of great feedback in addition to stirring up some spirited conversation, which I always think is a good thing when you’re creative training materials. The presentation itself, a high level overview for teachers about what blogs are and how they may be used in a classroom setting includes the following sections:

  • History of Blogs
  • What’s It All About?

  • Blog Topics

  • Layout and Design

  • Blogs in Education

  • Blogs for Teachers

  • Blogs for Students

  • Terms

  • Group Activity

The comments received included a discussion about including ethics in blogging as well as blog etiquette. However, these topics will likely be separate trainings, as Dr. Foreman is creating a 45-hour training course for teachers in education. It should be noted, however, that I will briefly mention these topics in this presentation as a means to introduce attendees to the concepts which they’ll be learning later in another training. Enjoy!
